On the 1/4 elliptical cars, it holds the radius arm to the tub. Think "top-link" in a four link suspension...sort of like that.

Apparently, they almost never fail/rust, but mine was missing to start with. The PO removed it for one of his other cars. Most people trash them when they part out a car.

Yup, I know you can buy them new, but $50 is a little steep. I'll buy a new one if I have to, but I was hoping someone would have an extra thrown about.
