Looking for a Healey

I bought a 100-4 here in US in April and will be taking it back to Scotland when I finish my US work assignment. You are quite correct that Healeys are less expensive in US than UK just now due mainly to the weaker $. Another thing that decided me to buy while I'm here is that the bodies and chassis on US cars are generally in much better condition, particularly if you can find a nice "dry state" car.

A better way to find items on eBay is to simply do a search for the item number (as provided). Click on the SEARCH tab and then enter the item number in the field labeled "Enter keyword or item number" and Bob's your uncle.
 
A Google search reveals all...

This phrase "Bob's your uncle", meaning everything will work out in the end, refers to a political appointment made in 1887. Britain's then Prime Minister Lord Salisbury (first name Robert) gave the post of Secretary for Ireland to a man called Arthur Balfour who was considered by many to be too young and naive for the post, especially as the question of Irish Independence was being considered at the time. The phrase entered common parlance because Balfour was Lord Salisbury's nephew, hence "Bob's your uncle".

My observation:In 2001 I went to "pay my respects" at Donald Healy's memorial(Pol Perro(sp?)).While I was outside the church looking at the stained glass window in his honor, the locals said "..why don't you drop by his brother's house, he likes talking to healy collectors.." I was given directions, rang doorbell, and had a nice chat.POINT OF STORY: He had a hard time getting a healy in England, and HIS healy is a USA model that had been shipped back to the UK!

Chaps, just to reinforce what most people seem to be saying, there is a thriving market over here for US imports, some are turned into RHD and some are left LHD. Serious money is being spent at reputable restorers and I have recently sold a 100/6 with extensive rot in the chasis and a seized engine along with most panels rusted out for ÂŁ2,500 and it is said that it could have been ÂŁ3,000 - 4,000 but I needed the room quickly, this one is being turned into a racer. I believe that I have seen some imports being sold for around ÂŁ10,000 and although running they need stripping and painting at the very least, so what were they purchased for in the States ?
