TR5/TR250 Looking for a driving light / badge bar for my 250

Country flag

Any one know where I can get a badge or light bar to mount my 500 series Lucas driving lights? None of the 3 main suppliers have them. I imagine they had to be originally made for the 4As and 250s. I bought a solid aluminium 3/4" bar yesterday and light clams to try to design one. Even pics of one on a car would be helpful. Thanks

I just purchased this bar
still in shipping will post a pic when I get it installed
(if it is not too hot out)

I posted pics on the Revington bar when you asked about it a few months ago:

Revington Bar

Exchange rate has creeped up, but I'm surprised at the $160 amount - should be about $70 + shipping.

someone also posted (somewhere) about making one from a chrome towel bar that they purchased from a home improvemnt shop

You got me curious since I'm working on one for my MGB.

Mostly, all I could find was the factory rally TR rally bar:

~OR HERE~

I did find ~THIS~ (on a 250), but it looks like a lot of trouble to make.

Since the TR has a flat section on the upper front bumper, it looks like most folks just drill that area for the lights (and put the badges in the grill).

Pretty sure that is an Amco period piece, they show up for sale occasionally.

Looks like someone made it from an old VOR/LOC towel rack dipole antenna.

That may be the guy that made one from a towel rack came from the Depot! I like that. The comment not the rack. I have seen these show up on E-bay, just too much bar. I'm surprised how the Revington bar fits. I figured the bar would be on top and the lights would mount to it. I've inquired around here to see if there is a business that sells stainless tubing. I'll come up with some thing to suit my fancy. But keep sending those pics.

Here is a copy of the e-mail from Revington if anyone else is thinking of ordering.

Larry,
Thanks for your enquiry. The price of RTR8428 is GBÂŁ 42.99. Shipping would be an additional ÂŁ53.59. Total ÂŁ96.58. At the current exchange (10.45hrs 25.6.09) rate in the UK of $1.63 to ÂŁ1 the cost will be $157.43. The exchange rate will vary depending on your bank/credit card company.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

best place to locate SS tubing is a boat dealership/ marina old Chris Craft have miles of it on board
deck railing comes in many dia. and lengths and Tee fittings too

I never would have guessed the shipping was more than the Revington part itself - its not really that heavy but the weight/size combination must put it in a pricey category. I like the Revington design because it is 100% bolt on, a similar design running between the bumper mounts might work for you.
