Lookie what just sold on eBay...

Pretty much what I thought too. Good looking car, for sure. I'd love to have one like it, but don't think I'd spend 15K on one.

I was hoping it was the BMC bus.

"In fact, you might bring home a trophy for Best Engine Bay"

In what dream? LOL! Nice car, not quite worth the sale price. 10K on the (ugly) engine, no overdrive, many incorrect parts, etc. At least it's a solid early car, that's worth something.

Yes, nice-looking, but you are correct, it does sit high. Could be the new suspension that's just not bedded in yet?

In addition, it's invisible due to the shadows in the frontal shots, but the side profiles show this clearly.....they have left off the front valance panel!!!

Price is, I would say, about right for a top-class early CB roadster, but it leaves me to wonder what else they got wrong? Other than the engine colour(s), that is?

Man, I need to sell some cars!!

Lovely looking car, and the selling price just goes to show how a well thought out and attractive advert makes a difference: compelling reading.

Sits high, yep. Front valence missing is what I saw right off (after the ~loud~ blue engine). all-in-all pro'lly a good enough car but a bit high priced for the obvious "dings". Oh well, the new owner apparently thought it worth the price of admission.
If he joins BCF we can pagger 'im over his "Ford" motor. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I saw a fre boo boos myself but it's nice to see the value of these cars increasing. I'm never selling them but It's nice to know anyway.

Yes it sits a little high, but once you get in, you will forget all of that with all the constant oohhs and aahhs coming your way. Nice looking car no doubt.
By the way, are the bolts supposed to be painted in the engine compartment or not?

Newkie

Depends on which bolts. Anything assembled before paint would be body color. Many engine fasteners were painted as well for the same reason.

Looking at the pictures of the car on Ebay, the bolts that hold the front fenders on were unpainted along with the bolts that hold the latch for the hood. I will be painting my car, and the car is being painted unassembled. Should I paint the bolts after I install the items mentioned above, or just leave em bare like on the Ebay car?
Thanks

Newkie

I would expect those to be painted when the car was painted but.........would check an orginal source.
