Look where I found rust [Pics]

I found rust in the rear suspension little holes that have plugs in them. It's just surface rust but I was thinking about sticking in the hose of a sand blaster then blasting away. After that I was going to coat the inside with Eastwood's rust encapsulator. Anyone have a better idea?

Are you sure that isn't dirt?

I'm with Kevin. Since they are aluminum I would expect any oxidation to be white.

Heavy? they only weigh like 5 or 6 pounds each, they're incredibly light. Your hub + backing plate + brakes + axle shaft on the other hand are heavy, and way many many times what the trailing arm does.

The TA's are sand-cast aluminum.

Now you can spend the time and money making the outside of the arms look better.

I may be wrong, but were the trailing arms sand cast? I think that is why the plugs are in there...

Anyway, mine had quite a bit debris inside when I changed the plugs out after I media blasted them. Thought that this may have been from the casting process.
