Only thing I see wrong is the gas tank cap. Big deal, may be locking replacement for obvious reasons.

The gas tank must have been replace as the neck and tank are separate parts. But havent we all replaced our tanks?

I don't follow the reasoning there? Why must the tank have been replaced?

Oh well we all can't be perfect. LOL

I'm not sure what british gas tanks are made of but they are very suseptable to rot. more so than it seems others.

In over 40 years of messing with LBC's, I've replaced exactly one gas tank. That was due to a broken leaf spring that was in the road, and bounced up and blew a hole in the bottom.

I have replaced one, only because I got a newer one and thought I should!!! The original is still servicable and stored in the garage as a spare!! Six Spridgets and it's the only one I've done!!
