Kidding aside... that car is beeeuuutiful... Absolutely on my next projects list....

The USD for this car is about $10K... not bad at all...

One final note... in reviewing the site I noted various TCs, TDs, YFs, three Bs, a tirumph, and a Morris...

Conspicuously absent and not represented in the inventory was the MGA.... ???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The "Jackall" system allows the car to be raised off of its suspension without a jack. Four hydraulic rams are mounted, one on each corner of the car. They can be lowered in pairs or all at once to raise the front end, rear end or all four wheels. VERY cool and handy! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"Semiphores" is actually incorrect when speakign of British cars. The Brits called them "Trafficators". A silly name yes, but this is the country that brought us Monty Python, Spinal Tap and The Young Ones.

Trafficators are arms that pop out from the side of the car to signal a turn. Most often they light up when erected. They were also used sometimes when parked to prevent traffic from crashing into a parked car.

Here is a photo of a Jackall system in use from mgytypes.org... (I would never get under a new or especially 60-year-old jackall system without jack stands or something similar!)

I'm sorta looking for one of those - but not enough to buy off internet from the Uk - when he says "Bodily, it could be described as basically very sound except for some arears to the bottom of the doors, boot lid and rear valance, which the new owner will have to give some t.l.c. to."....he means RUST.

Those cars are beautiful. They look as sharp as a Rolls. They serve to remind me that Triumphs really were and are total peices of crap. I'm kidding! LOL. Really though, those older MG's are something else. Why so cheap over there?
 
The last Rollie we fixed had "Trafficators"... We fixed those as well. On trying 'em out we discovered the majority of Yanks thought we were tryin' to get airborne... no CLUE we were signalin' to make a TURN!!!

Speaking of which I've been driving past an early MGA to/from work these past several days. An OEW with red (I think) interior just parked on the road across from the local BBC branch. Quite nice to see one out and about....
 
Being a fairly new owner of a MGB (2 years) I found that site amazing. You have to sit and wonder about the work and ideas that went into those cars back then. I would settle on having the Instruction manual and log book from the 1032 MGJ 2 just as a collector’s item. Favorite car: 1954 MGTF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif1250
