LoO Idea for all [even those who can't attend!]

I mentioned it in the lever shock vs tube shock thread...

There will be some technical clinics being conducted at the event. Any chance of recording these and setting up a youtube (or BCF specific) library for future reference? Imagine how great those would be for future reference! We'll have a lot of great minds there.

The trick would be to get a "release" from the presenter and have the presenter announce that you will be recording so that anyone who does not want to be recorded can hide out in the back. You can get a poor man's "release" by having the presenter say on camera that you have his/her permission to record him/her and put the video on Youtube. Also, I would look into acquiring a wireless lavaliere mic (lapel mic). You can buy these at Radio Shak for about $100-150, or rent one from a film production rental house for about $50 for the whole weekend.

I'm bringing a complete out-of-car Megasquirt setup for my tech session. Since the woody doesn't need it yet, it should make a nice visual aid.

Of course, if I break down on the way, who would want to convert to a flaky system? No pressure.

Great idea. I would like to be able to... uh... undo someone else's youtube video on Spridget shocks that mentions our product and makes some erroneous claims.

I'll bring my little consumer mini-DV, but that is about all I have in terms of equipment. I can edit video at home on my PC using Adobe Premier Elements.

Just thought it might be a really good reference tool for the future.

Re: LoO Idea for all [even those who can't attend!

Peter,
I just saw that (I think the same thing) last night..not trying to be mean, but some folks are actually following those 'sessions' as gospel..and it is just learning as he goes (which we all did at some point)
But man o man, I am no expert, but found myself saying "no way" to several "facts".
No harm no foul if he said "i'm documenting my work", but it is portrayed as an instructional video (a la university motors)
Mr. Twist's youtubes on the other hand, are AWESOME..I have watched some of them several times..GREAT stuff...and he's a well respected EXPERT.

I cringed at the part where the other party mentioned your shocks ..although he said good things about you!

Oh well..I just hope there aren't too many folks trying to build spridgets from it.

Re: LoO Idea for all [even those who can't attend!

I will be rebuilding a set of SUs and if anybody wants to video the session, I have no problem.
You should see the nasty set I am bringing to disassemble!
The set to be rebuild at LotO is already glass beaded with powdercoated screws and linkages. This set will be up for grabs at the meet. I am not sure if it's a door prize or a silent auction item. Either way, I am donating the set.

Devin, "But, it's on the internet, it must be true" is a dangerous assumption.

Frank, I am willing to have my session taped as well. We should have gotten Jim on that.

I will have a set of our front ADJUSTABLE shocks there for raffle or door prize as well. They are pretty cool, and top secret.....
