Logging scales

Last week I stopped at a roadside logging scale in my TR7v8 dhc. Total weight with me in the car was 2700lbs give or take a few. No AC, No PS.Rover 3.5l v8.

Sounds about right. A bone stock TR8 with AC, power steering, and a luggage rack weighs 2550 according to my scales. Get rid of all the junk on the engine, install some headers and some coupe bumpers, and you can get that down to 2300-2400. A gutted race car with a full cage comes in around 2100 to 2200. I once had a TR7 v8 that was completely gutted except for the cage and the drivers seat. It also sported fiberglass bumpers, hood and deck lid. With a full tank of fuel, it weighed 1950. Man was that thing nimble.
