TR4/4A Locked out of glove box

I was recently locked out of the glove box of my TR4A because the key stopped working in the lock cylinder tumbler. I didn’t see any solutions posted other than picking the lock. I was unsuccessful at picking the lock, and so was my local locksmith. You cannot pop it open with force because of the way the latch is facing, and obviously you don’t want to damage the wood. So, I fashioned a crude tool out of sheet metal flashing that would slide in the top of the doo and hook around the latch. Pulling gently you will depress the latch and open the door. Hope this helps someone searching.
