Location of drain holes from rain channel on BJ7?

Hi,
Does anyone know where the drain holes are supposed to be to drain water out of the tops rain channel? I just got a call from the shop installing my top. The two that go into the rear wheel well are there, but not the other three.
I'm guessing straight down to just behind the rear seats, but before they whip out the drill I thought I'd check to see if any one knows or has seen a picture. As usual, all comments are very appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Just got done doing this on my BJ7 and they are pretty much straight down from the mounting tubes on the drain channel. The outer ones are kind of tight behind the seat back mounting bracket. The center one is just about in the center of the car.

Hi Steve,

There are three drain holes total. The middle tube is in the center (directly in the centerline of the car) and goes through a hole that is on the horizontal surface that the rear seats mount on. The hole is at the back of that surface just before the panel bends up.

Once again, you guys are amazing. The picture is off to the shop and I think I could walk them through this over the phone.
Thanks again,

Steve

Steve,
Just want to clarify:
I have an early BJ7 and it only has three drain tubes ... could be the later BJ7 and BJ8 has 5 ... I'm not sure. Looking closely at the drain channel will give you the answer.

Cheers,
John

John, my BJ7 is a 63 and there are 5, have a look in the wheel arches there should be one drain pipe each side.

Hi Bob,

My BJ7 is a '62 with the three piece vent window rubber and sharp points on the top of the vent window chrome. Another difference is the profile shape of the chrome U trim at the rear of the cockpit .. it is sharper than the later design. It also has the clip on rear window instead of a zippered window. It only has three drain holes on the rain channel. 2 at the very ends and one in the middle. I suppose that they decided the water was not draining completely and they added two more holes. Not a big problem here in Southern California!

Cheers,
John
