This is a write up for a trail run I led yesterday, I hope you enjoy

What a great time!
We all were wondering what we might be getting our selves into by the time we arrived in Eureka for gas, We had driven through rain, fog, sleet, But once we drove out of Eureka the sky's cleared and we knew we were in for a beautiful Saturday at Little Sahara for our February trail run.
When we arrived at the base of Sand Mountain there was already a group of WC'rs unloading and chatting with each other, We all aired down signed in and Will conducted a little business, Then it was to the top! We had a fairly large group and it took a little bit to get everyone to the top of the mountain.

We were backing up at the top, Gary T. was nice enough to offer to stay back as gunner and make sure the final two rigs could make it over, I lead the group over the top and we dropped into the back side of the dunes, Once we got to a big open area I stopped so the kids could get out for a few minutes and expend some energy while everyone else caught up, Let people head out as they saw fit to go play till we moved on.
This is where the fun started...
Clay R. had jumped his Blazer and managed to break something in his front axle and people were trying to figure it out what exactly it might be, The rest of us rolled up on the place where we caught the big air last year and played around and had lunch, It just happened to be where Clay broke.

There will be more from where this came from...

After lunch it was decided that Clay and many others were going to go back the way we came in, Some heading for home others were helping Clay out.

Our small group of 3 rigs decided to keep going on our planned route out and around the back side of Sand Mountain.
Once we got near the fingers at Sand Mountain was played around a little Randy W, Wayne T and myself ran a few more hills.

We arrived back at the parking lot below Sand Mountain and heard that the other group was still having issues getting over the top.

Randy and I offered to come back over and help, We headed back over and Kurt W. met us near the top and asked about helping some near the bottom of the back side go the route we did, When I went over the top I found out that another rig has broken a front end, This time it was Brent C. so now we had two disabled rigs we needed to get over using only rear wheel drive in sand that had been driven over quite a few times as well as heated by the Sun.
Von lead a small group out the way our small group went out, While we started winch fest '09
Will made it back up to the top but it took a few tries, I tried as well before Clay got a good run at it using 499 of his 500HP rear wheel drive only run to the top, Clay had managed to get far enough so Will could winch him over the top, While Gary and I pushed, pulled and winched Brent over a few dunes, Untill he was close enough for will to winch him over the top with 3 additional tow straps, Gary was able to drive right up to the top, I needed a few tries and a bit more speed, But finally made it.

After we all managed it over the top, We headed to the parking lot to air up and chat for a little about the day, Like I mentioned at the beginning it was going to be a beautiful Saturday
The four remaining rigs caravaned home, three of us stopped and a Family Diner in Santaquin to get some of the biggest scones I had ever seen, Great food! Then back on the road and home.
