Little electric motor

I have a small motor, probably forty years old, it runs if I give a spin. Often runs for a short time, then stops. It will not start by adding power. In need of brushes? Maybe cleaning? It came from an n scale Rivarossi locomotive. I could find another one at some swap meet, I suppose. After playing with British cars though, I've become sort of jaded; almost anything is rebuildable.

Maybe clean the armature… where the brushes make contact

Also, run a fine knife blade between the sections ofthe armature.
