TR2/3/3A Little Bits and part numbers

I'm sure the Vaders, Pumpkins and the like already know all this (it's probably in the archives of this forum), but for the less informed of us, here's what I learned yesterday:
I started to install the oil pump to my block. Found the pump, screen and bag of fasteners clearly marked, “oil pump”. I'm usually not that orderly. However, instead of finding three studs, I found two along with one 5/16 bolt, approximately the correct length.
My normal procedure would have been to say good enough, put them in and torque it up, but instead, I looked it up.
Unless I missed it, (somewhat likely) the Moss catalog does not seem to list those fasteners anywhere. I don't have a complete TRF catalog for side screen TRs and don't see it listed. Their on line catalog is great for the fast moving parts, but no help for the trivial. (Their help desk is great but I didn't feel like calling). Actually, I struck out every where except, of course, the Standard Triumph catalog:
https://www.trtriumph.com/images/TR3 Parts Catalogue.pdf
V7318, at the end of the section showing the pump, qty 3. Question answered but I still have only two and can't do a thing with that number, although I read somewhere (probably this forum) that a cross reference of part number to size existed. And here it is, not hard to find:
https://obswww.unige.ch/~wildif/cars/docs/Standard_Triumph_Hardware_Catalog.pdf
It gives the dimensions for the stud which I as able t get at my local auto supply. I made a copy of this and put it on my workshop bookshelf.
Also happened into this:

Best Triumph catalog I've seen. Answer to my question on page 9. You do have to send to Deutchland to get the parts. I, at least, cannot cross any of the numbers.
Perhaps someone will find something in all this useful.

Hey Tom,

thanks for the links.

(hope I can remember where I downloaded them to)

Yup, that's one of the odd things about dealing with TRF. They simply do not publish a full line catalog for TR2-4 and Spitfire. Instead, you have to find the factory spare parts catalog(ue) and use the factory part numbers to order from them. Kind of strange at first, but apparently a common way of doing business in Britain. And after getting used to it, I rather like it. Of course it helps that I also have the parts catalogs for my cars

BTW, there are slightly improved (I hope) versions available at:

and
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2...ZTk0LTk1YTUtZTIyZmU3ZTc1Y2M4/view?usp=sharing
Cleaner scans (sometimes), Text searchable, usable bookmarks and even a few hot links that work.

Quite a few other things that may be helpful at

My suggestion is to download what you want to your hard drive, as access can be slow over the net and I may lose my storage or whatever. But I do update the files from time to time, so maybe check back once in awhile. Please let me know if you find problems, pages missing or unreadable, etc.

Thanks, Randall. Very helpful links, particularly, for me at least, the last. I'm still old school and like to have paper on the shelf in my shop. Most copy centers print them out from a thumb drive or 10 bucks or so. Well worth it for me even though a pita to update.
