Linux Photo Programs.

I am looking for a photo program that will remove the background and only show the main subject on a Linux machine. Any clues? Nothing complicated, just a program that can be used by a photo dummy like me! :thumbsup2:
 
I have never heard of what you describe. GIMP can do it, but not really easy by using masks. I think the Google Pixel pro phone does it automatically.

For what it's worth, Windows Paint does that easily - you can use Select/Fill or Select/Crop. GIMP does that too, but there's more to "wade through". A popular "Paint" for Linux is Pinta:
