Quite nice, much nicer than Mint and so far appears to be faster. Takes a while to download and burn to disk, but worth it. :encouragement:

May have to load it onto one of the old laptops to see how it works.

I might have to give it a try.

I guess being fairly new, there seem to be a few bugs in it. One thing I've found is there seems to be no option for transferring a batch of files from a stick to a folder, I can bring up the batch of files and select all, but once doing that, they seem to lock in that position and moving them doesn't work. I'm probably doing something wrong and have to figure out what! Putting extra icons on the desktop has issues. Drag and drop feature is also another issue. I'm sure the bugs will be worked out on later editions, in the meantime, I'll play with it and try to figure those issues out. PJ

If you installed the default of MX, you have the Xfce desktop. That is less resource hungry than the Cinnamon desktop that is the default for Mint. Both desktops, plus others can be installed on Mint.

Found out why it wouldn't transfer batch files, when plugging in a USB device, it automatically mounted it, I unmounted the device and the files transferred in a batch. Transferring a couple thousand files one by one isn't what I call fun! :applause:

I originally installed Mint with the MATE desktop. Several months ago I changed to Cinnamon, probably when I upgraded to Mint 20. I like the look a lot better and it has several features and utilities that MATE did not. Also it works my HP scanner that MATE never did. For me, it is well worth any additional overhead.

A problem with MX is, it doesn't recognise a wifi connection, in fact it doesn't have the internet program to recognise any internet servers you might have, it all has to be done manually, as 20 years ago! There are so many complaints about that, I think it ill be included in the next upgrade.
