The Prakticas I recall were the "Nova B" model and the shutter sounded a bit like banging two garbage can lids together compared to any of the Japanese cameras. The highest shutter speed was 1/500th. Very crude construction, too. Only saving grace at all was the thread-mount. You could screw Pentax/Yashica/Mamiya glass onto it. ISTR the store owner would ask the salesguy to get the Jena lenses on the few he would order and in spite of that they rarely came in with that glass.
 
Sounds like a real quality piece of equipment.
