Anyone going?

I know Michael O. and Mike H. will be there (racing).

We're planning on just driving up on Saturday for the day if the weather is good.
(I've got a race at NJMP three weeks later....one race per month is good for me right now)

Lime Rock

Michael -

That's quite a grid. You'll differently have your hands full, especially with David Swig and the "Monsterati" fresh off their Group 5B win at Monterey. Peter Giddings is always on his game as well. https://www.sportscardigest.com/wp-conten...rts-Reunion.pdf

I thought about extending my roadie to the ELVF this year by one week to attend this Lime Rock event, but my wife had other plans. So Lime Rock's still on the bucket list.

Have a great time, I'm pulling for ya.

Rick--

I will be alongside Michael Clifford's rig--he has a large blue and white awning--in the upper paddock probably either by EMS or the lefthander.
Please come find me.

Michael,

It was nice to say hello and put a face with a name. Hope your weekend was a good one. Weather couldn't have been better.

Had a great day on Saturday.
Great to chat with Michael.
Plus GeorgeH (Spitfire...great job on the clutch swap!), ChrisH (Corvette), PaulB (Turner), BillH (Crossle), Mack (Mini), Dave & Rob (MGA), Paul (GT6), BobG (Allard), Rocco (Sunbeam), Ray (ALFA), Tivvy and others.

To see all the photos I took CLICK HERE (the spectator parking and static shots in the paddock are first.....the "on track" shots are at the bottom)

Or view the same photos in a slide show HERE

I'll include some shots I got of Michael that are on the links above:

That last shot is an interesting mix of cars:

The Wang's Birdcage, the Monsterati, you and the Ambro-Triumph.

I always like the "specials" in this class. Especially the Hangsen-Jaguar, Philson-Falcon, EDP Special, Lester-MG, the Lister-Jag, the Devins, etc.

I was in group 6 which was entitled something like "Sports Racers from the 50's". It wasn't a particularly level playing field and included such diverse cars as a Chaparral, a Cooper Monaco, a Tipo 61 Birdcage Maserati, a couple of V-8 powered specials and a number of Lotus 7's in addition to club racers such as Lotus 11's, Lola MK I's and my MK IV. Notwithstanding the speed potentials the front half of the pack was pretty tightly bunched: The fastest guys were running about 1.02 and I qualified at just under 1.06 and was gridded 13th for the feature.

I got an okay start and after passing a few guys I spent the entire race chasing a large-block powered Devin SS, so it was a classic case of handling versus power. On each lap the Devin would accelerate down the straight leaving me pretty far behind, but by the time we got to the left-hander I was on his tail and chased him all the way around the back of the course. On three occasions, including the last lap, I passed him in the downhill and beat him onto the front straight but he could accelerate past me and pass me by the time we got to start-finish. I laughed the whole way and finished 11th.

Here's a shot of me two-off on no name straight trying to dodge the big guys.

I'll be running in group 1 at Watkins Glen next weekend--hope to see some folks there.
