Marla,
If you look closely at the back the switch you should find that each terminal has a number 1 through 8. Assuming that your harness has not been altered, here are the three wires that go on the switch.
#4 terminal the brown /blue that came from the ignition switch.
#7 the red/green that came from the fuse box ( a long ways away, so it will just come out of the harness)
#8 the blue wire that goes to the headlamps ( again likely just comes out of the harness.)
Both the brown /blue and the solid blue wires should be rather heavy compared to most of the other wires in the harness.

The headlight switch is a general purpose switch that gets used in other places. (For example, the same switch is used for the heater blower on my Stag.) Because of that, the switch has extra terminals that don't get used in this application.

Since your photo looks right for the 3 wires that should go to the headlight switch, I think the other two must have come from somewhere else. If you can tell us the colors, we can probably figure out where they should go.

That black wire (with the yellow crimp-on on each end is simply a ground that a PO has added. Perhaps it was providing a dedicated ground to the radio you pulled.

Okay - on second look I see the dates on the photos.

The pic from last September is correct.

The pic from yesterday is wrong -- now the brown/blue wire is on #6, should be on #4.

There is also a loose brown/blue (NU) wire. The other end of the one on the headlamp switch connects to the ignition switch - could that second brown/blue wire be the other end of the one connected to the headlamp switch?

You could remove the NU wire from the switch and use a multimeter to see if those are simply 2 ends of the same wire. If so then I think you will want one end on terminal #4 of the headlamp switch and the other on terminal #1 of the ignition switch.

Do disconnect the ground post of the battery before you mess with any of this.

PS: There is some electrical tape on the NU wire in the later photo (don't see it in the 2016 pic) that may mean something - but can't say what.

Sorry for the drawings...still a bit shaky so the #1 is where the blue/brown is now...it should be at #1 the plinth? that has no wire...?

Is that NU wire that is angled toward the headlamp switch just swinging in the breeze? It doesn't appear to be connected to anything.

It may be intended for terminal 1 on the ignition switch.

Yes I think you are correct..3 wires to the light switch and a brown/blue to the ignition...sounds probable considering that the removal of the radio is very snug and the ability to pull off wires is pretty good...I will let you guys know sometime tomorrow...Marla

Yep...exactly as you said you wiring guru you...brown/blue to ign too...love you much and thank you...Marla
