We are considering mounting fog and driving lights on the
front of the TR2. Any input regarding the bar would be
most helpful. Anyone know of a original bar that might
be for sale? Are there any bars currently available that
you would recommend?
input greatly appreciated.

There is this offering from Moss:

If it is a safety issue (you plan to drive in fog and on deserted roads) then that is one thing - but I, for one, never cared for the look of added lights.

Since you are in California you will also want to get to know the state motor vehicle code's position on such things.

I too, feel added lights detract from the looks of most cars. For British cars, added lights and badges simply cover up the beauty of the grills.

When I bought my TR3A, it had a bar, a couple of badges, and one Lucas light on the car. They appeared to be from the 1960s, but there I s no way I can verify.

They were removed from the car immediately and placed in the attic of my garage, where they still remain, along with the tinted acrylic sun visors, and the clear acrylic wind vent things, both of which I believe also detract from the looks of the car.

There is a special badge bar for the TR2 that fits in the recessed front opening and requires holes to be drilled, which is a bit of a leap. I got one and used it for a bit, but then decided I liked the cleaner look better.

To my eyes, the only light bars that look good are the ones that replace the bumpers and mount in the same brackets. And only then if the bar is painted body color. Gives the car a more rally inspired look without overpowering the front with chrome.

TRF has one listed as a replacement for the factory style bar. P/N RFN305

I didn't find a photo of the TRF offering, but here's a shot of the original ad. I think that's a Standard 8 in the drawing, but they claim the same bar fits "TR Sports", which at that time would be TR2 and TR3.

PS, Typed too soon. Here's a drawing of the TRF offering

Perhaps mounted without the bar? I don't think this was unusual.
