Life with two running LBC's - nice!

I finally see what I missed earlier in my life only owning one LBC at a time.

When it would fail for one reason or another I had to sweat getting it going again in order to get back on the road.

Now that I'm a lot older and maybe a little wiser...
Having more than one "running" LBC means that when the one you are driving konks out for one reason or another you can still drive another one while you work out the kinks with the broken car.

I haven't driven my Midget in a couple weeks, the weather has been lousy so I've been driving the BGT.
It's exhaust flanges blew out on Friday, so I drove the Midget to work today.

Once again, I see why I like this car so much!
While it doesn't have the roominess of the BGT it makes up for it in the "fun" category.

Meanwhile I can wait for a little sunshine to work on the GT. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

You're now officially sucked in, Rick. 3 cars, 2 running. You know, 3 running cars improves your chances of having a driving day even more. So does 4... and 5... and...

That all sounds great but when I had 5 on the road, there was always one that needed something that night after work so the kid(s) could drive it to school in the morning.
Right now I only have 3 on the road and one under construction.
My son has his own Sprite and Mini along with a couple of projects too. But now they are HIS problem /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Speaking of which, it's not raining at the moment so I had better get out there and see if I can loosen up the exhaust flange bolts. Wish me luck!

Have my little 77 Midget..just bought an 80 B...now I have another excuse for keeping them both! The first question everyone asks when I tell them I bought the B is what are you planning to do with the Midget..actually, I had thought about keeping both...they look at me kind of strange with that one..as if I don't NEED 2. Now I can tell them, one's a spare so I never miss a beautiful day! Thanks /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Looks like I will be spending a few more days driving the Midget.

All the bolts that were not already broken off came right out with PB blaster.

The one that was already broken was very stubborn.
I drilled it, tried an easy out for a while.
Went and bought a harder drill bit & drilled it some more, until the bit broke off - you guessed it - in the hole.

"Now... matters are worse..."

That's when I gave up for the evening.

Glad I have the Midget. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Rick, do you have an open thread on this over in MG?

Yes Barry, I do! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Both cars are back on the road now!

My wife and I belong to the North West MG Club and she has mentioned a couple times how it would be nice if we each drove a car at one of the upcoming 'happenings'.
Sharing is nice /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Oh, it's our 20th anniversary today! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Congrats on the 20th, Rick!

Thanks, we drove in the MGB.
Went & saw a movie and had dinner.
The movie was "We own the night".

We plan to go out this weekend and celebrate a little more. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
