Letting the Healey go...

After 27 years of ownership, I’ve decided to part ways with my Austin Healey. As much as I love the car, the time has come to sell…a bittersweet moment for sure. In recent years, the car has been driven very little…just a few quick spins each driving season. It’s a terrific Healey that turns heads wherever I go. I am certain it will make the next owner very happy. Being a part of this forum has been a great help in maintaining the car. So many experienced Healey enthusiasts who are always willing to share their tremendous knowledge. I can’t tell you how many times one of my Healey projects was rescued by a contribution from a forum member. Thank you all. And kudos to Basil, for creating and maintaining this incredible community. I’ll continue checking in on this forum to see what’s going on in the Healey world...it's been a daily addiction for over twenty years.

A tough decision many of us, unfortunately, will have to make at some point when driving these brutes becomes more of a handful. Your particular brute looks great in white/red combo and should do well in auction. See your around and best of luck!

My car has been shipped to its new owner. I'm glad I made the decision to sell it on BaT. In the past, I sold a TR4 and a Lotus Elan, and both times I undervalued the cars, leaving money on the table. So rather than trying to to come up with a price for the Healey, I figured I would let the BaT auction process find the best possible price for the car. It was my first BaT auction. It was exciting (especially the closing minutes) and the process was well coordinated.
