Heck with the Super 7! That Midget was HOT!! Love to see the little "Davids" knock down those big "Goliaths"!!! Great video Jack!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
One of the best races I have ever watched (too many years ago to admit to) was between a Mini Cooper and a honking 427 Cobra (drived by Ed Lothar if I recall correctly) at Cumberland, Md. Just lap after lap of the Mini killing the curvy bits and leaving the Cobra behind, only to be reeled in on the straight(s)!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Kinda like the video of the guy racing the horse over a short course...50 yards out...turn around...50 yards back. The guy always wins!
Ray...who always wonderd what the outcome would have been if the race horse had instead been a barrel pony with one of cute little cow girls steering...hmmmm
/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif Yeah, kinda, but the guy would get tired after a lap or two /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif , those cars did it for what seemed like a whole afternoon!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
Excellent! A little, twisty track like that is perfect for a Spridget.
Did anyone notice that the "old","outclassed" D-Type Jag in that video was an ex-Mike Hawthorn car!
By the way, that track is Warwick Farm Racecourse, an Australian horse race track that was also used for car racing. They haven't had car racing there in over 30 years.
If you want a Lotus 7 try this web site. There is a 2 minute and 11 minute video of a Stalker V-6 here. If I recall right straight up on the speedo is 65 mph. He gets from 60-65 to substantially faster than that in just a blip of the throttle. I know there is one of these in Indy that a guy built. I got to ride in one of the Supercharged Versions down i nBreadenton FL when the loud pedal got put down and all I can say is it is an "Oh My God" Car. 1.4 negative g. Talk about sticking to the track. That ride 4 years later still has pucker power thinking about it.
That was incredible. Midgets, Lotus 7's, Barracuda Ford (V8 no less), D-Type Jags and even an 800 CC Honda giving H*LL to a Big Healey. That was pure racing; what an era! I remember all those cars, but had no idea that they all raced together and winner takes all.
