Lets do the time warp again ...

So you may remember me/this Spitfire from eBay a couple months back. I finally have the title sorted out, so I figured I'd spend some quality time with it and bond, so to speak.

I had the day off today (well, sort of) to mess around. I stripped the interior this morning among the conf calls on mute/speakerphone /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/angel.gif.

Anyway, I knew this car was clean/rust free, but I didn't expect this...

I sprayed some Simple Green on the floor pan and then waxed it /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif The rest are just as clean. My MIG is nice and dusty under the workbench, and I'm happy to keep her that way for a while.

28 year old floor pan; like the day it left Canley... I'd rather rebuild 10 engines than replace a rusty floorpan. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Lets do the time warp again !!

After all the problems you had getting this car home and then getting a title, it's nice to see that it has become a pristine find. I am very glad for you Scott. Of course I'm just a little envious too, but that's for another day

Good for you. Doing repair work to those areas can be very tedious and discouraging.

Good luck and keep us posted on the project.

It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I've got to keep control

I remember doing the Time Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me and the void would be calling
Let's do the time warp again...
Let's do the time warp again!

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,
Let's do the Time Warp again!

Amen. Looks like you're in good shape, Scott.

I've often wondered who was actually out there on those conference calls....and what exactly they were doing...could be up to something worse I suppose.

Nice! My last Spit was like that. I wish I'd never sold it!

Scott,
That is fantastic. I am very happy for you. There was me starting to think that people only sold cars on eBay that they couldn't sell any other way because they were so bad! Your Spitfire certainly seems to be a great car.

Impressive! That means a LOT less work.

Doc - wait until you see the boot /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

It's missing some bits overall, and I'd like to bring it back to original. Anyone have a good source for used Spit parts?
