ABOUT TIME! - we can't buy "pure gasoline" at the pump,here in California.
I went to Oregon,in the TR6,& could buy it at the pump legally.
NOBODY likes this stuff,other than the lawmakers & farmers.

E85 and "Flex Fuel" cars are the biggest crock to be foisted off on the American people. It's a boondoggle for the corn-belt states. When you factor in the loss of efficiency in running your vehicle on E85, it is no cleaner than running on straight gasoline. Also, the corn that goes to E85 and Ethanol drives up the prices of feed for cattle and increases the price of meat and dairy products for your every day food consumption.

OTOH - synthetic fuel derived from coal is a source that needs to be exploited more. Right now, the process is ridiculously expensive. However, if it was subsidized the way we subsidize ethanol and E85 production, the costs to the consumer would not be nearly as significant. Eventually, economies of scale would bring the price down as larger synthetic fuel plants could be built. These plants would also create jobs. It's a win-win for everyone involved...including the car enthusiast that could run their car on decent fuel again.

I welcome the scaling back of ethanol in our fuel. Maybe in the future I won't have to look for the 100% gas labels anymore.
 
Go to any marina and start a conversation about ethanol...

100 % correct. It has caused 400 of the 2000 dairy farmers in California to go out of business. Amazing that food pricing is not calculated in the inflation index.

APFM - American Petrochemical & Fuel Manufacturers, they and the American Petroleum Institute were the two orgs that originally asked the EPA to partially waive the 2014 ethanol volume requirements.

All three are very powerful lobbies...
