It's such an awesome car. The finished product is beautiful. It's amazing that Leno can fit his easter island head in it.

That makes me want a Lotus! BTW "Easter Island Head" LOL LOL - the best metaphor I've heard in a long time!

Jim does great work on all of Jay's cars. The Elan is sort of a resto-mod / restoration. Very cool.

That '62 Super 7 is the bee's knees.

If my long-lost Uncle Archibald left me a jillion dollars, I hope I'd be just like Jay! :friendly_wink:

Jay is kinda the ultimate gear head. He claims more money than brains. Check out the terrible door fit at 20:13 to 20:17. The top of the door looks fine, so I assume it is properly latched.

An Ultimate Elan, for sure.

Door fit is pretty crude, Mark. Even noticed some sort of deformation at the center of it, too. But the thickness of that shell is about half to a third as thick as any Corvette panels of the time, too.
Besides, "frozen snot" tends to change shape as it ages.

Beautiful beautiful car, just makes me want an Elan even more.
