TR4/4A Length of a TR4A choke cable??

I'm putting HS6 SUs with a TR4A manifold on my TR3 and the choke cable is not long enough. Does anyone know the length of a 4A cable before I order one. I'd like to know if it will fit before I buy it... Has anyone done this conversion?

Thanks

Moss lists the same cable for the TR4 & 4A. Measuring my TR4's cable still on the car it looks to be about 47"... though the last 4" or so is outside the housing (due to the natue of the ZS choke connection).

Certainly longer than a TR3A choke cable.

Why can't you put the part that clamps the choke cable onto the rear carb. Sort of swap positions. I just looked at my carbs, and this looks very plausible. I'm talking about the steel part that clamps onto the exterior of the cable. Leave the brass part of the actuators in each respective carb. Actually, they are the same. You would also have to flip the rod mechanism between the two carbs so you could attach the interior part of the cable.

Of course, you might have to now SHORTEN the cable so it doesn't take a wild bend. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
