LeMons!

Hi All,

While some people "get" the 24 Hours of LeMons and others don't, I wanted to share my successes this last weekend. I brought a 64 Imp and a 94 Jag XJ12 to last weekend's race. FYI, Class C and IOE each pay more than the overall winners on laps and are the most celebrated and coveted awards in LeMons. A few other LBC's represented was an MGB and a Cortina.

We were in the Cortina! We lost the differential Sunday morning and were out of the race. We also had to replace two alternators during the race but the otherwise the engine did ok. In fact, we were across the fire road from your parking spot. We all admired the Imp, not to fast but it kept going.

Thanks Rich, enjoyed it all.
Jerry, sorry about the Cortina's rear, we loved ours and I won 3 local SCCA autocross Championships and the wife 2 before someone wanted it more than we did.

I think I would enjoy your racing more. Lemons is now putting too many cars on the course. Some of them are idiots who attempt to pass in an unsafe way which scares the crap out of me. I love to see how the car performs. Each time we go out, it gets a little better (for more money), but the loss of the rear end requires more thought of a replacement. So far we know an Alfa rear end is the same size and make take the torque better. Who knows.

I was at Sears Pointless this last weekend at the Lemons in a 1983 GTI...my first time back on the track in decades, an absolute blast! We had fuel delivery trouble and lost an alternator, but we were running at the finish!
