Left shock

Hi all.
I removed both front shocks to paint the area. Right went back in no problem but when I went to put in the left it was extended down and won't go in. I tried applying some force to extend it back up but did t want to apply too much without asking advice. I was going to out it in a jig and use leverage. Any advice?

I think something is wrong - you should be able to adjust the lever by hand. You shouldn't need a jig. Obvious question but you haven't put them backwards and trying to bend it backwards? They might also need rebuilding - in which case World Wide Auto parts (Peter) is your guy

Ok, thanks, I'll contact Peter
I finally replaced all of mine - amazing the difference it made, like an old mattress you don't realize how bad it is until you get a new one.
