I am planning to change over my lights to LED for the gauges. Are all the light bulbs for illumination screw base or bayonet? I have a 74 and cannot remember. The other thing is how hard it is to reach some of them.

Is there no one out there that know for sure if the bulbs for gauge illumination are screw type or bayonet type? No one has done the LED conversion? Or replaced their bulbs?

According to the Moss catalog there are 12 that screw in, the others are not; maybe you can look in the TRF Green catalog Plate EN and count them up.

I am not sure about a 74, but for my 68 Triumph and most British sports cars of that era you are looking for an e10 screw base, 12v of course, Google search or eBay or Amazon will turn up many options. Bulb head will need to be similar size to your current bulbs, bigger ones won't fit.
 
Thanks, I have some coming from china, they were not too expensive, so I'll post what I get and how they work. I imagine it's pretty tough to reach the small gauges, even after removing the radio and center support.

Yes, the top center of the dash is it can be done, but access is pretty limited up there, you probably have a few more wires and connectors to work around, kind of trade off between how much you remove to gain easier access.
 
Just had the dash out on my CR '74. They're all screw base, 2.2W 12V.
Much easier to remove the kidney pads & heater hoses.
