Leather seats

Have a chance to buy a hide to have leather seats. My bugeye guru says it is sick to have leather seats in a Bugeye(he he). Been working to much overtime and have just about decided to reward the BE. Restored the BE about 25 yrs ago, and noticed the seats are starting to pull apart. Can't get anything to last, can you.

Oh, real leather. Cool.

I like the idea of leather for the seats. Breathes better than the original vinyl, and should last a long time. Go for it.

I would say go for it! Leather is much more preferrable to vinyl in every way (perhaps except requiring a bit more care to keep supple!). All the old T series MGs had leather and they are "open" cars! As far as originality, the leather can be sewn to look just like the original vinyl seats!! The only reason BEs came with vinyl rather than leather was that the BE was designed to be a low-cost entry-level vehicle!!

I remember that about my MGC - the seats were always soooo comfy. Original black leather from the factory.
Now of course they have turned to crud along with the rest of the interior, but a new set of covers can be had fairly inexpensive from places like Prestige.
I'd say definitely go for it - there is nothing to compare to the feel of leather in a seat!

There is NOTHING like a leather seat, IMHO. In practically any LBC, leather seats look classy and cool. They're not cheap, but if you've got the dough I say go for it.

Properly cared for, leather seats will last a long, long time.

Go for it!
