I was just looking over my old 1986 Ford Ranger pickup the other day that I bought new in 86, and even though it's body is falling apart, it doesn't leak one drop of oil anywhere! It has over 200,000 miles on it. Hasn't been on the road for quite a while, I just use it around the place. 4 cylinder engine that other than infrequent oil changes, a new timing belt and fuel pump were installed about 10 years ago. I park it sometimes in front of the garage on the concrete ramp for maybe 2 or three days at a time, until someone tells me to get that ugly thing away from the house!
Nothing has ever been done to the drive train and yet after a couple days on the ramp in front of the garage there is not one drop of oil anywhere. I think Ford changed the drive train a couple years later, probably because nothing ever went bad!
I wonder how long it took the British Fords before they started marking their territory.
