Just picked up a 75 tr6 with no emissions and no blower pump has anyone heard of adding a lead substitute to the gas I had 5 tr's from a 69 to a 76 and never did that am I missing something right now it's running like crap

I've heard of it, but don't believe it's necessary.
Could be as "simple" as the carbs or it could need a tune up...or it could be a mechanical problem.
"Running like crap" frankly isn't much to go on if you get to the point of asking for help with the diagnosis.

Just picked it up tonight didn't have a chance to go through it could adding the lead substitutes do any damage to the valves

Not likely to do any damage, but it is not going.to help either. If lack of lead is the reason it runs poorly, then the exhaust valves are already ruined and nothing short of a valve job is going to fix them.

Like Ken said, start with a major tuneup, including compression test & valve adjustment. If you find one or more exhaust valves that are tighter than spec, you might possibly benefit from lead substitute. But normally a TR6 should not need it.

That's a big clue right there. Good chance something was done wrong when stripping off "all that emissions junk".
