Lead my gas..?

My late father said they didn't put lead into gasoline but in the late 50s. He was griping about it in the beginning of the 70s, because back then they charged more for putting the lead in, and then in the 70s. charged more again for taking it out!

If you're putting 15-20k miles a year on your car, then maybe it's an issue. Personally, I don't give it a thought, just filling up with the highest octane gasoline that's available locally. I don't use any lead enhancements, as they're not really lead either. Though once in a while, I'll put a bottle of Techron in the tank, hoping that it's helping to keep those Weber passageways clear.
