Got my wheels back from having them sand blasted and was checking the true by mounting it on the right rear tire position. I noticed that the spinner I took off said right side but had a clockwise undo arrow on it. If I mounted my tires on that side with those spinners and hubs they would have a grand time spinning off as I motored down the road. Don't figure I have them on the correct side. The only reference I found for handedness was in the Roger Williams "How to Restore......" book and he indicated that left or right is determined from standing at the back of the car and that left would be the driver side for a US car. Can the hubs be switched? Am I being very dense? Whats going on? "Help Me Help Me" He cried.

If it says "Right Side", it goes on the right side of the car...in the USA, that would be the passenger's side. The right side knock-off is LEFT THREADED...the left side knock-off is obviously right threaded. Notice the "UNDO" with the arrow on the knock-off.

Edit: And yes, the hubs can be switched. All you have to do is un-bolt them and put them on the other side of the car, but apparently your's are correct.

But check them all just to make sure.
 
Thanks Art, I guess thats why I need to use a heavy hammer to put them on tight eh? Mr. Williams, in his book suggests a lead hammer but then goes on to say that he uses a 3 lb sledge and a block of wood.
I did check them when I put them on and they are, as you indicate, they should be.

If you put them on the wrong side, you run the risk that the wheels will "un-screw" while you're driving merrily along at 100 MPH with no wheels on. I call that flying.
