Started the TF up yesterday to let everything warm up and circulate the oils and the tach started acting goofy. Holding the RPMs steady, the tach would rise slowly and sometimes would pass where it should stop and then slowly drop below the proper RPM point, slowly moving up and down, when I let the engine idle, the tach would sometimes drop to zero and adding a little RPMs it would slowly climb back up. The generator belt is not slipping, the tach reduction gear is working fine and the cable appears to be fine. It's not cold in the garage so any thoughts on this situation?

to say the least, but no chance of it fouling the tach drive where the cable hooks up. The original type cable is held in place with "C" clips on each end of the cable and can not move in or out of position. I did pull the tach apart and cleaned it internally and lubed it also. Works very well! PJ
