Per Work Internet Stats, as of Jun 30th 2019 there were an estimated 4,536,248,808 (over 4 and a half billion) internet users. The article says it has affected 100,000 web users. That means it has affected about 2 one hundredths of one percent of internet users. Nevertheless, it's always a good idea to have backups of everything!

got this in a newsletter today (Malwarebites - so legit) where you can check how often your email has been compromised (or more accurately how often)

https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Did you do it? I ran one address, clean. Second, big issue..Avast, Malwarebytes, and MajorGeeks. Those are three....who should know better, but didn't.

That "haveibeenpwned" site looks reputable. But I wonder how many people check the background of other websites they use, where you enter your personal data to "check" it?

Reminds me of the spam emails which say "just enter your email address [or phone number] so we can remove it from our files".

Yeah, right.

I did do it = 5 on two 7 on the other (or the other way around) - none of the big players like that though
