MGA Late MGA 1500 Drive shaft dust cover

LBC fans...

I was driving my A the other day and started to hear a rather loud scraping sound from the tailshaft area... 'OH NO!?!.. that old tranny has let go!?!' said I with great consternation...

I crawled under to check with visions of pulling the freshly installed drive train back out only to find, thankfully, that the front driveshaft dust cover had worked loose... I pressed it back into place but have yet to correct the problem in any way permanently...

I THINK that it was originally simply pressed in place and, over time, the flange has widened... I was thinking that a little dab of liquid weld will fix it.

BUT before I do that... anyone had a similar malfunction and if so, how did you fix it? The A is a late '57 1500...
