Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

Time is really flying by! The last day to get a room at the event headquarters hotel at the special reduced rate is May 23rd - just a week away!! Call them NOW at 1-800-348-4731!! Also you have only through June 1st to register at the reduced registration rate of $50 per car! After June
1st the price will be $75 per car! We'll count the postmark on your mail-in registration form, but it's much quicker to register only from the website
at: https://www.Sprite-MidgetClub.org/registration.html

We've put up a professional picture of the Limited Special Edition Grille Badge made for us by Car Badges Direct (the same company that is doing the MG2008 badges). You can see it on Frank Clarici's Bugeye or view a large
image of it at: ttp://www.starrtech.net/~jimj/50th/grille_badge.pdf These
are going to sell out and are only available to event attendees so get your order in ASAP! Call me or email me and I'll reserve one for you until they are all spoken for.

We have two great photographers signed up for the event. Tony Lipari will be doing the panoramic photo with beautiful Lake of the Ozarks as a backdrop.
Dale Delugosh will make stills of everyone and their cars available with the event logo on them. Dale will also be doing a DVD of the entire event which
will be available for purchase. Dale says the portrait pictures should be available at the banquet.

The awards plaques are in and they are absolutely beautiful! There are 50 different awards to be won!

The collection of loot for door prizes and registration packets continues to pile up. Carolyn will have to drive our big pick-up to haul everything in.
(I've got all I can do to shoe horn myself into the Spridget!)

We are still looking for sponsorship for one or two of the evening parties in the hospitality room. Let me know if you are interested. Also, bring your spares along to sell in the hotel parking lot area! There is no charge for
vendors or general swap-meet type stuff.

As always, if you have any questions, comments suggestions or whatever, you can email us at SpriteMidgetClub@gmail.com or simply give me a call at any
time on my cell (620.408.6877) If I don't answer just leave a message and I'll call you back.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

I'm hoping to win the "I made it there and back with no major incident" award.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

I'd like to have a car for it!

Today, just as I started working on it 1 guy stopped by for parts...as he was leaving, another stopped by just to visit on his way back to Atlanta & then UPS showed up with parts I have to separate, repack & ship tomorrow!

Wish I was near enough to help you buddy. I know how much work that is going back together. Don't hurry it and mess something up. Deep breaths and steady work. Good thing is that you probably have all new parts and can find replacements when you lose one.

Spoke with Tony today. He is comming along just fine. Almost ready to start on interior and engine.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

OK, sent the money for registration. Tammy and I will be leaving out early on the morning of the 26th and should arrive sometime that evening. Looks to be around 750 miles and I won't be driving that fast, so about 15 hours. Look for us around 8-9pm, I would figure.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

To anyone traveling through Clarksville on I-24, don't forget to drop me a note - coffee's on me!

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

Over 50 cars signed up at this point.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

50 cars... hmmm at think they have over 1000 for the event at Gaydon. Any chance we'll reach that number?

1000 spridgets? I doubt it. This is a spridget meet up. Where is gaydon? Sounds like a town I would not want to admit visiting

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

Ah, just googled. Its in the old country. I have been to the Royal Leeming Spa which is near there. Yeah, they would be getting the spridgets out of the barns there and probably get many from the continent as well coming to that event. Would be a good one to see.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

Hay 50 is not bad, we have a month to go plus those who just show up.

At least with 50 I will get to meet everyone and look at all the cars. I would suggest that it will not go over 75, that's what we figured when we started all this. But then what did we know, it has been a learning experience for sure. Now what I do know is that we are going to have a few days that we will remember the rest of our life.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

No, I think 50 is a good number for a single "model" event. However, I would not complain if it ends up closer to 100.

Re: Lake of the Ozarks, up-date.

There is no clue how many yet. I'm sure that the price of gas has had an effect though.

Sure is nice to get someplace north of 30 per on the spridgets though.
