Does anyone know a quality classic Jaguar inspector in the LA area? I need someone to perform a comprehensive look-see on a Mark II before I jump on a plane to go and "touch" it myself. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks folks

Hi Alan, You could go to the JCNA web site, go to western clubs and look under officers and contact one for help.

Just bought an E-type here in LA about 9 months ago, so I know a bunch of local evaluators...

Bill Brady is well-known in Jag circles here for his shop Bonnet To Boot. He'll evaluate a car if it's brought in...he knows his stuff, tho' don't expect a detailed, type-up report...he'll talk to you over the phone about it. (818) 757-7050

Jim Rickman specializes in Jags and Rolls...he'll evaluate a car also...(626) 793-5397.

Malcolm Buckeridge is retired, but works on Jags out of his home. He's a former mechanic from Coventry itself. (626) 309-2923. He'll travel to see a car if you pay his hourly rate.

Ian Brown is a Jag mechanic who'll evaluate a car...(818) 832-4626 or (818) 363-0893.

A contact at the Jaguar Owner's Club is Eric Shumaker, (310) 376-1650...he might make some recommendations.

Mark Mayuga was a former JOC president who was a mechanic at a Jag specialty shop...I believe he said he'd do a full, printed report on all the points of a car...but you'd have to bring the car to his shop, which was on the outskirts of town (Upland). I think he's working at a new place, though...(714) 281-1304.

I have personally met every one of the guys mentioned on this list...three of them have done work for me. All of them have impressed me as truly upstanding guys...very honest.

LA is an awesomely huge metropolitan area, so the location of the evaluator and the car might affect your choice.

You can call me if you'd like at (626) 432-1760
My name is Chris Headrick, or as I'm known on this forum...
