Very clever. When I worked as a band instrument repairman in high school I once made a band out of cork and round springs on an especially slow afternoon. So I can totally relate to the guys creative endeavour.

I've been meaning to build an entire manikin out of piano parts... to sit at our piano when I'm not there. He'd be mostly made out of hammers, keys and strings. I made a lamp out of piano hammers a number of years ago.

Here I thought it was AC/DC.

Mark, That is a fantastic idea, you'll have to provide pictures if and when you do it.

Walter, here is my lamp. I started with a wood base and then, using 5 minute epoxy, just worked my way upward around a metal core. Bought a blank shade and covered it with favorite music. The hammers total about 80 (nearly a full piano).piano lamp.jpg

Looks DC to me (with those parts). Hey, trivia: originally the band spelled it "Lead" Zeppelin apparently everyone was calling it "leed" Z. Thus the spelling change.

Cool lamp, and nice bit of Zeppelin trivia.

Thanks.
