what is the little knob to the left of my choke on my 74 midget? mine turns left or right or pulls completely out!
is this for dashlights maybe? mine must be missing something behind the dash maybe?...couldnt see it...i have no dash lights so far...zimmy

It dims the dashlights just as you suspected. I think all the way counterclockwise is full bright...which is still pretty dim...lol

Mine was shot, making the interior lights not come on at all. I simply wired it so that there was a direct connection between the 12V and the lights, as opposed to putting it through any resistance. This way it's full bright all the time (more reliable this way too). Rheostats tend to go bad, so I figure I might as well just eliminate them.

If I ever get around to it, I might make this knob do something else. What, I really don't know. However, I can always think of something /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Right now my 'choke' knob doesn't do anything either! Have to take care of that one.

HEHEHEHE!! A little nitrous, and you wouldn't be kidding! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Seriously though, if I ever get around to fuel injection or other onboard electronics, I may make use of it.

I had this backwards...(checked it this morning on the way to work) The dash light dimmer on my 76 is clockwise to show full bright. Not counterclockwise as I had previously posted.
