King pins

Welding would work. But hey they may not be cracked. The spindle are another story. you kinda have to replace them. just check for cracks. The threads for the fulcrum pins are the things that wear on the A-arms. Once you get the fulcrum pins out you will likely find the arms are worn not the pins.
 
In answer to the question about wanting to get a Sprite inverted, the answer is a resounding "NO."

Although this wasn't due to a spindle failure, I had one break in the past with much the same result.
