Why on earth did you do all of that?

Plugs don't need to be cleaned after 1,200 miles of successful driving.

I thought it was running great but the brakes needed adjustment? How did you go from brakes to ignition replacement again?
 
Don't you remember, Paul ? There was that whole deal with the choke about a week ago. "Difficulty Starting Engine"
 
hey Dale,

are you gonna set up an auction site for "used" Triumph parts? I'm sure there are some that would LOVE to buy your used parts(almost new with only 1200 miles on 'em?.

OK.....it's time for an ............. INTERVENTION........ we're all going to PR and confronting Dale. I think we can get Dr. Phil to attend..... he's done with Brittany and needs a new challenge. When my car is running good, I'm afraid to touch anything. Just leave well enough alone and enjoy it. I'm confused.....is this S&M or S or M?
 
Dale does this mean the hand brake is fixed ?

I just had to jump in here. I've followed the forum for a long time and only post when I really need help. Luckily you all on the forum have provided me with many answers to my own TR6 struggles.

Dale, I bought my car in pieces and boxes originally and learned as I struggled to put "Humpty Dumpty" back together again. Painted it myself and got it road worthy. I drove it as a daily driver for about five years with no problems other than regular maintenance (oil change and tune ups). Oh, I did run out of gas once.

I put it away for a number of years while I went through a frame off restoration of my 1954 MGTF that I bought in 1979.

So now I am trying to breath life back into the six. I rebuilt all the brake system, carbs, and clutch hydraulics. I am still struggling with the clutch slave cylinder bleeding, but will get it resolved in due time.

Once you get the car sorted out, it will be a very reliable ride. Just do not let it sit without exercise on a regular basis. That is what starts the "troubles".

These things were built to be driven, not stored.

The beast was getting difficult to start. The handbrake was a detail issue.

The car now starts just fine but it appears a I need another 40+ HOURS to break
down the rear end to remove the brake side cables of the handbrake. And THAT ain't
gonna happen again any time soon. The handbrake functions but cannot lock in place.
I have used chocks for 3 years and I'll keep using them.

Yes, I have many used TR6 parts- the price I pay for a functional car, I'm afraid.
