Post-War Other Kas Kastner

Kas Kastner has taken the checkered flag.

Thought I would post this here instead of the "Racing" section thinking more Triumph people would see it here as opposed to there.

If you ever had the chance to meet him you would be instantly impressed, I know that I was. He offered us up some additional advice on a TR6 and a Spitfire that we had at The Mitty one year. He had probably forgotten more about Triumphs than I will ever know at that point.

He also went into the aftermarket turbocharger business in the mid seventies with Arkay (Robert Kastner) Incorporated. During that period we had a diesel Rabbit delivery car that everybody complained about being too slow. The fix, install an Arkay turbo kit. The car was transformed and as one of the delivery drivers told us "This is great, it runs like a gas engined rabbit now!" It came with a rear badge like this to replace the standard "Rabbit" badge:

we lose more of the "old guard" every month, it seems. RIP Kas. a life well lived.
