There is a guy in the Vender Section who has been waiting a real long time for parts from Kai.
I know we got a couple of folks who just got parts from him .
Can you wander in that forum and help the new guy out?

I feel his pain, I went thru the same thing , just took me 8 months to get my TR6 engine and OD back but he did a really great job on both. I think he takes on a little more than he can handle and trust very few machine shops to do accurate work and he verifies every dimension before building. But in Kais defense, the crank shop that lightened my cranshaft said one week and it took them 2 months, they kept pushing my job back for their bigger volume customers, and the nitrider took 1 month instead of 1 week, I did call the crankshaft guy he used and he did verify he pushed Kais job out

How great can a job be if it is months and months behind schedule? I don't knock the support guys who keep our hobby going but these complaints are far too frequent for Kai and he needs to be more open honest with his customers.

I've heard all about the small shop stuff and quality work takes time. If so, then say that up front so people know what to expect and tell them that you will stop talking to them after so many months and they that can expect to never know when you will actually get the work done.

And the pattern is always the same, sudden lack of communication for months on end. I don't care what anyone says, that is just bad business and there is no excuse for that once you've taken money or taken in assemblies to rebuilt with a promise on the time to do it.

:iagree: Well said Paul!
If a customer calls me and I don't return their call within 24 hours you can probably figure I've left the earth! After all, it's good business practice and good customer service that keeps them coming!
When I was restoring my car, I took my transmission into a place that specialized in British cars... he told me he would have it done in 2-3 weeks. Five weeks later I placed multiple calls to him... he NEVER returned them. One day I just drove over to his place, went in, picked up my transmission (it was exactly where I had left it weeks before), put it in my car and off I went!

Reminder:

If you're having issues with a vendor, work it out. The BCF is not the venue for that.

Thanks!
