Kabash Latest??

Re: Kabash up-date??

Okay guys. Cut the kid some slack. Not our car. Perhaps we wouldn't do things in the order Keenan is, but it is his car. And whether or not that car becomes roadworthy is ultimately up to him and where he puts his priorities. He'll get it done. Or he'll get tired and sell it, but let's give him a break.

Re: Kabash up-date??

Even better - '67 short block with late head....I kept telling him on the other BBS to wait until he got it home & looked up inside the old engine but everybody else told him he needed a new engine...I still think the old engine was salvageable (seems a rod cap let loose but photos don't show any serious damage to crank)...then ,some MG club guy sold him a "good running engine" that would supposedly fit right in car...then he got off on an LE aid dam tangent, then a '74 steering wheel tangent, now an alarm - & the engine still isn't hooked up

....& you wonder why backed out of trying to help him...I've walked several people through a build but everybody wanted to give his 2-cents worth & the kid couldn't figure out who to listen to...

Re: Kabash up-date??

I'm not trying to rag on him or anything...I apologize if it came off that way. Mostly, I'm just trying to get the straight dope on what's going on with his project.

Janel's right though; MGs are supposed to be a fun experience, both in the restoring of and driving them. The project that Keenan has in front of him is a daunting one, especially for a teenager who hasn't had a lot of experience with cars.

I hope he gets it up and running again.

Re: Kabash up-date??

I think he will. He IS spending his money on his car, not drugs or booze.

Re: Kabash up-date??

I'm not ragging on him either- I've not said anything here that I've not told him privately...I just want him to get it fixed so he can enjoy it this summer!

Re: Kabash up-date??

I know Tony. I think we all look at Keenan as our kid, just want to keep him going in the right direction! Heck, I've ragged on him more than once in PMs and he will be the first to tell you.

Not sure he'll make prom, but he'll be buzzing about this summer in it!

Re: Kabash up-date??

It is my opinion that he is making many of te mistakes I made in my younger years all at one time ie lack of focus and not having my priorities in the correct order that is the order of those with experience failed to listen to sage advice and walked for a long time when I had almost a pristine healy sprite to drive I said almost cause it needed freeze plugs and I thought it had a cracked block I was more inot other things at the time and had the family wagon (so uncool) but it was transportation
