jute padding

Anyone know a source for the old-fashioned jute padding for under carpets or rubber floor mats? Usually about a half inch thick?

I've found the big three offering a "grey" stuff they call jute, but it sure looks like a modern grey felt to me. I realize there are better materials for padding, but I'm hoping for some period style.

Back in my youth, when I worked for President Lincoln, jute padding was a kind of light colored dirty brown and fibrous, something like this:

Thanks.

How much you need? I've got some

John-Peter - probably about a square yard/meter.

I'll do some measuring - need to re-check a few other areas.

Is yours the 1/2 inch thick "light brown" fibrous stuff like in my picture?

Tom

Looks like I need about two square yards/meters. (Two square-ish pieces, each piece about one meter/yard on each side.)

Looking for the 1/2 inch thick, light brown fiber stuff.

Feel free to send me a private message.

Thanks.

Local carpet store should have it. If not, check your dealer as some have it or a source for doing flood cars. You can buy it local for cheaper than shipping. Always in supply down here, but we get allot of water.
