A little James Taylor, clawhammer style!

A little Beatles, maybe?

I love the sound that comes from a banjo. Not particularly savvy but I do know what I like. My hair stylist, Cheri, is taking up the banjo. She says she's not ready for the public to hear her yet. I suggested we have a "Welcome To The Banjo Party" when she is comfortable.

I've been working on learning clawhammer style for a couple years now. Haven't devoted as much time as I should, but still enjoying it. Wish I'd started years ago...

Spent a delightful day playing ukulele on the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson ferry. Once a year the club plays on the boat both across Long Island Sound and back. We only had 14 players this year because of a conflicting event - last year we had 26 plus an electric bass player. I brought my friend Jeff along to play my baritone uke - he's a guitar and banjo player. We had a great time topped off with hot lobster rolls at a Milford seafood restaurant.

I'm going to New England the first part of October and for sure I was planning on steamers (little necks) and a lobster roll. I've never had a hot lobster roll but think I just might try one. Thanks for the mention. Didn't even know of such a treat.
