Hello All,
Well, I'm brand new at this. Just tore into a '68 Mk3. It's my first restoration and so far it's gone pretty well, I think.
I got the engine running after the car had been sitting a few years. The PO had quite a few spare parts, utilized some and bought some new stuff.
I ran a new fuel line and right now I'm cleaning the old gas tank. It had corrosion and what appeared to be a batch of bad gas. Who know how long it had been in there.
I then got into the brakes. I'm currently in search of a passenger-side caliper for this car. The other one is fine. Going to rebuild the brakes and get everything road worthy.
I removed the dash cluster and cleaned all the contacts, made a temporary dash out of a piece of wood and refitted the gauges and switches. I've got a couple of blown fuses so after replacing those I can see how things work.
I've got headlights, tail lights, one front running light, but no turn signals, hazards or brakelights. I assume this may be the fuse.
If there's anyone out there that is knowledgeable about Spitfires, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Russ
